Media Regulation & Development

Fragile countries face complex problems when it comes to balancing the right to freedom of expression with the need for modern regulation and a properly functioning independent print and broadcast media. These are difficult and delicate issues that require expert guidance. Albany has an enviable track record introducing media regulation, public sector broadcasters and media outlets in Iraq, Somalia, the UAE, Kosovo, Bosnia and Jordan. Working with governments and media professionals, Albany assists with digitalisation, convergence, licensing, codes of conduct and a host of other issues. Our objective is international best practice while understanding that every country has its unique political, cultural, social and economic fabric which calls for flexible strategies and sensitive implementation.
