“Really excellent – brilliant at drawing on a wide range of experiences.” Communication Team Lead, UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO)
Strategic communication is a vital component of contemporary successful foreign policy politico-military intervention. Indeed, great debate surrounds the field, much of it generated from the sheer inability to utilize strategic communication to full effect. Whilst much is made of tactical procedures and programmes, such as information operations, less is committed to managing and practicing communications at the strategic level – strategic communication.
Organised by Albany Associates, the Strategic Communication Masterclass, over three days, intends to enhance the ability of senior officials and communicators to fully exploit strategic communication. Whilst the lessons of Iraq and Afghanistan are valid, the discussing and debating of current intractable issues often prevents clarity of thought, merely rehashing tired arguments over the failure of strategic communication. Whilst engaging the lessons learnt, the Masterclass presents a realistic scenario removed from those overheated debates, providing a ‘clean sheet’. Through structured analysis, intensive practical work and focused discussion led by renowned experts in the field, delegates will be guided through and contribute to the principles of strategic communication, extending their knowledge of extensive and comprehensive management of information and communication in foreign policy crisis intervention.
This will not be your average conference or training session but an intensive, immersive and collaborative learning experience. Attendance is by invitation only and places are limited. However, should you wish to be considered for an invitation, then please contact us using the form below.
The Masterclass programme will cover:
* Politico-military issues
* Communication management and organizational challenges
* Information ecology
* Narrative construction
* Diaspora engagement
* De-radicalisation
* Grass-roots mobilization
* Digital Media Engagement
* Media development, capacity building and regulation
* Research and Measurement of Effectiveness (MoE)
* Cultural analysis
The modern information environment, across the globe, demands a deep understanding and precise practical application of the principles of strategic communication. The requirements of today’s geo-political circumstances make these even more so. Through targeted collaborative knowledge generation, the Strategic Communication Masterclass will provide a strategic ‘toolbox’, enabling delegates to comprehend, navigate and operate effectively in this increasingly complex maelstrom.
